Blue Spell
By Brenda Sutton © 2005
Double, double toil and trouble
Fire burn and cauldron bubble
Mix it up and mash it down
Stir the potion widdershins around
Cackle, cackle, raise your hackles
Moosh the mortar, scrape and spackle
Tease and titter, hoot and hop,
Take care when that karmic anvil drops.
Grab the ladle, dip it up
In a pestled-vestled cup
Don't be scared - drink it all!
We will catch you when you fall.
Meddle, muddle, jump the puddle
Merry meet, but mind the muggle
Whoop dee doo and high dee ho
Just don't walk where the leathered wingies go
Twinkle, twinkle, there's a crinkle
That no hot iron can unwrinkle
Once you start to stir this brew
It could take a lifetime 'til you're through
Pass the ammo - dig your hole
In a chaliced-palaced bowl
Greedy glutton - gulp it down!
Lick the droplets from your frown
Hocus pocus, where's the locus?
Don't mind when your eyes unfocus
Bibbety bobbety boo
Join us in a little tea for two
Have a heaping helping of our stew
And yes, my deary, it's a trifle blue.
